A habitual  past activity can be expressed in English by the verbs used. Would is used for all persons, singular or plural with the bare infinitive.

WOULD

Would may be used to indicate a past  activity, restricted to occasional occurrences. Would is not used of an activity that was continuous in the past.

 

Examples of Would – Past time

Mother would sometimes play with us, when we were children

We would walk through park for hours when we was younger.

While he was living here, he would often come to grab a cup of coffee.
